Setbacks

Everyone will have setbacks- they’re a part of life, right? But some people will have more setbacks than others. People with severe depression, anxiety and other maladies can have a tough time staying motivated to progress on their self-care journey.

Below are some of the setbacks I expect to face from the journey.

Setbacks for People with Mental Illness

Things such as self care, exercise, and other things of the like are all linked to motivation and the need to do better for yourself. If you don’t believe that you deserve better for yourself, you can’t start on the journey of self love and care.

Keeping track of tasks when doing others is one of the biggest setbacks that a person with mental illness can face. It can cause overload and a severe anxiety attack in many people.

Setting goals and sticking to them is difficult because one of the main symptoms of these disorders is executive dysfunction.
